Federal Individual Mandate: it is not necessary to provide specific tax forms indicating exemption from the ACA mandate
State Individual Mandate: the ONLY states/territory requiring exemption forms for tax year 2022 are the District of Columbia (D.C.), California, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Answers to some commonly asked questions
Currently, you cannot fund an HSA if you do not have an HSA compatible insurance plan. Altrua HealthShare memberships are NOT health insurance.
Health insurance premiums are tax-deductible. Health care sharing contributions are not. NOTE: medical expenses may be deductible subject to a threshold based on a percentage of your adjusted gross income.
Effective 1.1.2019, the federal mandate and penalty for not having health coverage was changed. The ACA individual mandate still exists in the law, but the Administration made the penalty equal to $0. Therefore, individuals no longer need to provide Form 1095A or the IRS Exemption Form 8965 to avoid federal tax mandate penalties. There are certain states that have individual mandates. Please consult your tax advisor for additional information.
